Weapons and FIrearms

All weapons are treated like real weapons in a theatrical setting. Real firearms and other real weapons are not permitted on the UWL campus.

CHAIN OF POSSESSION

The only people allowed to touch the weapon are SM team, fight choreographer, fight captain, firearms master, actor who is using that specific weapon, assigned crew

PROCEDURES

Weapons must be locked up at all times except when in use
Weapons shall never be used backstage or left unattended
Weapons cleaned by the actor who uses the weapon or the fight captain and checked by the fight captain every night
Firearms are only loaded/unloaded by the firearms master immediately before and after use. Only the exact number of blanks needed should be loaded.
Weapon can not leave rehearsal space
Ammunition must be stored separately from the firearm

FIGHT/FIREARM CALL

The only people who should be onstage or in the audience during fight/firearm call should be the fight captain/firearm specialist and the actors
Firearms call should take place in show conditions

EDGED WEAPONS

Including knives, swords, rapiers, razors, arrows and bows (recurve and crossbow), pitch forks, mace, hatchets, axes, saws, spears, kunai, throwing stars, and darts should all be treated with that same amount of caution as all weapons
All of these weapons should have a dull edge to ensure safer combat
