HOW DO I AUDITION?

There are several ways you can audition. You will be given equal consideration for casting regardless of how you choose to audition.
1- Attend the in-person audition and perform a memorized, one-minute monologue of your choice.
2-Attend the in-person audition and read a monologue that we will provide for you. We will have copies printed out for you at the audition.
3-Submit a video audition. You can either perform a memorized, 1-minute monologue or read a monologue from the sides provided . Please see the additional “tips” below for preparing a video audition.
VIDEO AUDITIONS WILL BE DUE BY SUNDAY, MARCH 30 at 11:59 PM.
You will be able to upload your video right in the audition form.

WHAT ARE THE PLAYS?

13 students are enrolled in the Directing class.
Each will be directing their own scene.

Please see the Scene and Character Breakdown for details on each one. You may choose to be considered one, several, or all of the scenes. You can be cast in one scene or two--your choice.
Just mark that on the audition form!

VIDEO AUDITION TIPS

-
Introduce yourself before you begin acting! Just say, "Hi, my name is Jane Smith and I'll be reading from Option 2 (or the name of the play if you have your own monologue).
-
It’s perfectly acceptable to record on a phone or laptop camera!
-
Record yourself in a quiet, but well-lit private space (yes, your dorm room is perfectly fine – so is an empty classroom).
-
Steady your camera - place it somewhere rather than hold it.
-
Record your audition from directly in front of you rather than on an angle.
-
Ideally, record yourself at least from the waist up so that you can move if you desire and so that we see more of you than just your face.
-
Make sure we can see your face!
-
You’re welcome to read from the provided scripts. No memorization required.
THAT'S IT! We look forward to seeing you at the auditions.
